Great examples, and thank you for the response. If you read lot of "here's what YOU can do to solve [X really big environmental problem]" (as I do), you'll see a pattern of comments along the lines of "so what -- it doesn't matter unless we [elect X / enact Y legislation / convince everyone on Earth to convert to Z way of thinking]." Seemed like the point of your article was that individuals can change the world -- that real change can start from the bottom, it doesn't have to start at the top.
