Solar seems like it will play a much bigger role than utility grid power within 10 years as the EV supply chain gets built out globally. Consider the fact that transformers are unnecessary in a solar to battery system. Simply string the panels at whatever voltage you want to charge the batteries. Truck stops in rural areas will have solar farms directly tied to stationary battery banks. Stationary batteries will charge mobile batteries. Several reasons this will happen, including cost, lead time, efficiency and reliability. Can't beat daily free delivery of energy to any location on Earth like you get with solar. Also can't beat not having to rectify, invert then rectify power as you do with an AC EV charger.
