I'm looking for some good references that compare the overall impacts of distributed composting of organic waste versus industrial scale anaerobic digestion of organic waste. The arguments for awarding large contracts for big businesses to collect organic waste, produce methane, and then burn some of the methane for energy seem very similar to the arguments for waste-to-energy incinerators. Your thoughts?
